VasTOPO

VasTOPO is a solution for those who need to analyze, verify, and optimize the design of parts and assemblies in the most efficient and time-saving manner. When developing VasTOPO, we tried to create a convenient, easy-to-use and fast tool that would help engineers to evaluate the design of products consisting of many parts with different connections between them. We wanted that our software made it possible to create a computational finite element model faster than ever before. At the same time, we needed our tool to be powerful enough to quickly solve finite element problems with a large number of degrees of freedom.

To achieve these goals, we have added to VasTOPO the option of importing CAD models (both single parts and assemblies), an automatic finite element mesh generator, an automatic connection finder module, and a fast multi-threaded finite element solver.

The solver provides the solutions of the static, contact, steady-state heat conduction, thermoelastic, and natural frequencies problems. Topology optimization of assemblies, analysis of optimized models, and exporting optimized models in IGES format are also available.

You can have a look on some assembly of models that are made of different materials joined by many connections and virtual parts and have finite element meshes with different parameters. The most complex of these models was imported and prepared for calculation with VasTOPO in less than one hour. You can open and examine these models with Vasto.OPT.FreeViewer .

VasTOPO package consists of three main modules:

  • Vasto.OPT, the main module, which provides:
    • creating finite elements meshes,
    • searching and editing of connections and virtual parts,
    • definition of loads, boundary conditions, and analysis cases,
    • visualization of results of the finite element problems solution,
    • creation of the optimized models and its finite element representations,
    • export of the optimized models.
  • Vasto.CALC, the multithreading finite element solver, which computes solutions of:
    • static and contact problems,
    • steady-state heat conduction problems,
    • thermoelastic problems,
    • calculation of lower natural frequencies,
    • topology optimization problems.
  • Vasto.IMP, the module for importing CAD models to Vasto.OPT. Vasto.IMP is based on InterOp and ACIS Modeler from Spatial Corp and makes it possible to read CATIA, Pro/E, Unigraphics, NX, SolidWorks, Parasolid, STEP, and other CAD models.

64-bit operating system:

  • Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10
  • Linux (Redhat/Centos-7/8.x, Fedora-27/28, Ubuntu-14/16/18/20.x, Debian-9.x, Manjaro)

Hardware:

  • Intel or AMD 64-bit processor (preferably Intel Core I7 or higher )
  • 8Gb RAM (32GB or higher is recommended )
  • Graphic card supporting OpenGL 1.0 and higher

We provide continuous support of the customers of VasTOPO. Customers are receiving access to the bug tracking system. Reaction to the report about the issue is doing in the shortest time. Usually, we need 2-3 working days to eliminate the issue reported.
Online consulting and web courses are available on the customer's demand.
